Where the slab meets the room.
The edge profile sets the tone of a surface as much as the colour does. Eight standard profiles are cut and polished to order on every Bellistri piece, from a sharp 45° chamfer to a heavier L-shaped return.
Squared Ridge at 45°
A crisp 45° chamfer with a sharp arris, giving the slab a faceted, architectural edge.
Rounded Ridge at 45°
The same 45° angle, softened with a rounded top edge for a gentler line of light.
Straight Squared Ridge
A clean vertical edge with a squared top — the quietest, most minimal profile.
Rounded Straight Ridge
A vertical edge with a softly rounded top corner, comfortable to the touch.
Double Straight Squared Ridge
A stepped double edge that reads as a thicker slab, with crisp squared lines.
Double Straight Rounded Ridge
The same stepped double profile, with every edge eased to a soft round.
L-Shaped Squared Ridge
An L-shaped return that visually doubles the slab thickness, with sharp corners throughout.
L-Shaped Rounded Ridge
The L-shaped return with every corner rounded, for a heavier profile that still feels soft.
A quick rule of thumb
Squared ridges — straight or at 45° — suit contemporary kitchens and read as quietly structural. Rounded ridges soften a busy worktop or a family table. The double and L-shaped returns are used where the side of the slab is visible — kitchen islands and freestanding desks — to give the impression of a thicker, more substantial block of stone.
